Two trips across London and back : Sampling steps.

Today was the day that I got my hands on the first roll of fabric I plan to use for a range of utility/work jackets I’m setting to put into production in a week.
Based on the outskirts of the bustling East-end of London sat a warehouse. Specialising in wool and suiting fabrics. Lit via tempered glass ceilings and walls lined with porcelain tiles. After careful selection, three fabrics were chosen.

1. Outer-body. 2. Inner pocket lining. 3. Interior shoulder/back plating.

Leaving there. I made my way over to the West-end. There I selected a couple of variations of buttons – no ordinary buttons mind you. It’s a sample at the end of it all and trailing is essential.

With the design and detailing finalised after endless research and discussions with workwear heads, it’s now to the workshop.
