Habitat 67 – Ever since its completion in 1968, this development has become an architectural landmark in Montreal, Canada. Designed by 23 year-old Israeli-Canadian Brutalist architect Moshe Safdie. Habitat ’67 was constructed as a model housing complex and presented first at the 67′ Expo. It was Safdie’s vision of the future of urban housing in an increasingly crowded world. The estate is made up of 354 identical pre-made cubes strategically stacked together to make 148 apartments.
